As if it were up to me...

A sure-fired way to really piss me off is to transfer our nations capital up into the hands of a few families, export all our jobs overseas and close down our companies as tax-evasion schemes--then say it's my fault for being unemployed. If that's the case, if all I have to do is get off my duff and find a job, then there should be a ton of jobs out there--right? This is a graphical analysis of an employment newsletter, the Employment Times. It used to be chock-full of classified-style ads. Now look at it:
Only big block-style ads, for either highly-paid hard-to-fill positions or else contractual labor. So,  where are all the other jobs, technical, assembly, manufacturing, wood-working, clerical, managerial? They're gone. And they may be gone for good....

This is a newspaper that lives on advertising. It's sales staff are looking for listings, job openings, utilizing sales contacts and people to compile job listings. They depend on job openings for their survival--and this is all they find.
